This project will support a Yukon Indigenous Justice training gathering and training and further development of the Kwanlin Dun Restorative Justice Program model and committee.

The funding will support two justice forums for Mi’kmaq leadership. The focus of the first forum will be on the implementation of bylaws and policing challenges and best practices. The second forum will focus on furthering discussions about access to justice and navigating the system. The aim of the forums is to improve access and equity for Indigenous people going through the justice system, thereby supporting successful reintegration outcomes. The forums will also further work to uphold traditional laws and integrate culturally appropriate services and supports.

Newly and previously appointed special advocates will attend a training day in March 2025.

Red River Métis Victim Support Navigator Program will provide access to culturally safe services, partnership building and reduction in harm while promoting victim-centered approaches, allowing victims and survivors to navigate the criminal justice system and access community resources. This will allow focus on increasing the availability and accessibility of culturally appropriate services for Red River Métis victims and survivors of crime.

The project will develop a handbook for criminal justice practitioners on hate crimes. This project will better equip prosecutors in assessing and prosecuting hate crime files including files in which hate is an aggravating factor in the offence.

Victims and Survivors of Crime Week will take place from May 11 to May 17, 2025. Victims and Survivors of Crime Week projects provide an opportunity to raise awareness about victim issues and about the programs, services and laws in place to help victims and survivors of crime and their families.

The Ka Uauitshiat Innua Tshetshi meshkamentshi Shutshiunu / Mushuau Innu-centred support service for victims of crime provides culturally safe and appropriate victim support services to Mushuau Innu (women, men, youth and 2SLGBTQI+) victims of crime or survivors of violence. This access aims to reduce barriers and build partnerships that will provide additional support services to Mushuau Innu victims of crime and Mushuau Innu survivors (of all genders/ages) who have been harmed by crime or violence.

The purpose of this agreement is to enhance the ability for Indigenous Peoples to engage and participate in projects related to enabling infrastructure for critical minerals development.

This project promotes greater awareness among Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians of electric vehicles.

The objective of this Project is to develop a Mass Timber Costing Guide focused on increasing the understanding of cost issues associated with design, engineering, code equivalency, and construction of large mass timber buildings.
