This project aims to support the Egyptian government's national food and nutrition strategy 2023 to 2030, in order to promote maternal and child nutrition. Project activities include: 1) organizing workshops with national partners to support the Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes; 2) implementing advocacy activities to strengthen support for legislation to improve nutrition and food security; 3) developing a monitoring framework for the implementation of the Action Plan against Anemia; 4) increasing the availability of gender-disaggregated nutritional data; 5) providing technical support for the development of the National Investment Framework for Girls; 6) developing training manuals for health workers on menstrual health and anemia; 7) developing breastfeeding support and Baby-Friendly Hospital initiatives; 8) training health personnel in nutrition, WASH, food and water conservation, and recycling; 9) equipping health facilities with materials, education and communication materials relating to maternal and child health and nutrition; 10) rehabilitating WASH services in primary health care facilities; 11) supporting nutritional awareness and screening services in schools; 12) equipping community organizations with kitchens and nutritional equipment; 13) developing guidelines for nurseries and organize events to promote gardening among children and parents; 14) purchasing supplies for kitchens and gardens. This project aims to target 200 public establishments, including 10 hospitals, 35 schools and 150 nurseries in Egypt. It expects to directly benefit 305,000 patients and 2,000 healthcare professionals, and indirectly benefit 9.4 million people.

This project proposes a $55 million investment to secure and reinforce the building blocks of Mozambique’s health system to improve health outcomes for the most vulnerable communities in the country. Implemented in 10 out of Mozambique’s 11 provinces, this project will reach nearly 5 million people in historically underserved districts with critical services. By investing in the essential foundations of the healthcare system -- such as rehabilitating district hospitals with resilient infrastructure and access to clean water, ensuring sustainable access to quality family planning services, and expanding community health programs - this project will build stability in health care delivery. Additionally, it aims to reestablish functional surgical units, enhance access to sexual and reproductive health services, and deliver essential nutrition interventions to 1.5 million children. These investments will help to prevent early pregnancies, reduce maternal and newborn deaths, prevent stunting, and improve the basic health and wellbeing of Mozambicans while leveraging additional investments in the health system.

Counteracting Transnational Repression and Protecting Civil Society in the Digital Age, aims to increase the safety and security of civil society actors and human rights defenders, with a focus on communities impacted by transnational repression. Over a 24-month period, the project would deliver targeted digital security support through Access Now’s Digital Security Helpline, conduct advocacy to combat transnational repression tactics like surveillance and spyware, and facilitate multi-stakeholder engagement on digital security threats through the RightsCon Summit Series.

This project aims to strengthen national safety and gender-responsive recovery in Ukraine through increased and sustained employment of women in the demining sector and emergency services. Project activities include: (1) supporting women’s empowerment and confidence to enter sectors traditionally dominated by men through innovative mental health interventions; (2) transforming gender stereotypes and societal barriers to women’s participation in demining and emergency services through strategic dissemination of research, targeted media campaigns, and comprehensive mentorship programs; and (3) equipping women with the necessary technical skills and certifications for roles in demining and emergency services through structured training programs and facilitated access to employment.

This project supports the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund) in their final push to eradicate the wild poliovirus (WPV) in Afghanistan, one of only 2 remaining polio endemic countries (the other being Pakistan) by 2027. A significant number of Afghan children remain unvaccinated, and this project aims to increase polio vaccine campaign activities for Afghan children under the age of 5. Project (WHO) activities include: (1) coordinating operations and conducting research, analysis, monitoring, and evaluation; (2) providing technical and operational support for campaign administrators; (3) coordinating the training and deployment of human resources for supplementary technical assistance; and (4) securing logistics to access hard-to-reach areas. With Canada's support, the United Nations (UN) Department of Peace Operations and Department of Management Strategy, Compliance and Policy aim to enhance UN peace operations trough training and capacity building to support field mission globally. Project activities include: (1) enhancing policy, guidance, and training on child protection for civilian and uniformed personnel. This is done to reinforce the child protection mandate in UN peace operations; (2) supporting the UN system to plan and manage transitions from peacekeeping missions by increasing the capacity of national, regional, and international partners to sustain peace beyond mission withdrawal; (3) supporting the UN advisory and mobile teams to work with troop and police contributing countries on their national explosive ordinance disposal curricula and to bring them in line with the UN minimum standards; (4) providing specialized advice and technical assistance to missions with protection of civilians mandates, and ensuring protection of civilia
