The purpose of this Contribution is to provide funding to help the community enhance their security infrastructure by the purchase and installation of CCTV cameras, alarm system, window film, and a fence.

Throughout this 19-month project, Compass Early Learning and Care (CELC) will scale “Building Bright Futures in the Early Child Care Workforce” to enhance women’s economic security and prosperity by supporting viable career paths for equity deserving individuals, newcomer and low-income women, and 2SLGBTQI+ communities working as educators in centre-based childcare, through systemic change. It will scale the project intersectionally through engaging with key stakeholders who engage with equity deserving groups, such as newcomer and low-income women, and 2SLGBTQI+ in communities. Specifically, it will address barriers that inhibit low-income and newcomer women, nonbinary, and trans people from engaging in full and meaningful labour market participation as educators.

To do so, the project will (1) develop hiring and onboarding practices of centre-based child care educators through policies and organizational diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives (DEI), (2) engage working groups and partners, including municipalities and child care communities, and DEI committees located in Durham and Peterborough to gather information about the intersectionality of the scaled up population; (3) develop resources to identify barriers to education and employment of scaled group of equity deserving educators and incorporate intersectionality; (4) review existing CELC policies, procedures and practices to scale the previously developed practices from the closed project on assessing assumptions and create equitable one and (5) develop sustainability plan to remove barriers and increase stability for educators.

Grant as part of the Participant Funding Program to Conseil de la Nation Innu de Matimekush - Lac-John to assist in preparing for and engaging in Indigenous consultation activities and public participation opportunities associated with the assessment process for the Strange Lake Rare Earth Mine Project.

This project aims to improve the resilience of African communities and economies to the impacts of climate change. Project activities include: (1) providing private and public organizations advice on incorporating gender-responsive adaptation solutions into large-scale investments designs in Africa. It does so by focusing on 4 areas: food security, infrastructure and nature-based solutions, youth entrepreneurship and adaptation jobs creation, and innovative finance for adaptation; (2) leading advocacy efforts on climate adaptation in high-level meetings to inspire climate action; (3) conducting research and analysis on current and future climate risks and vulnerabilities to inform adaptation solutions for systems, assets, and communities; and (4) collaborating with governments to integrate climate gender-responsive adaptation into their national policies and strategies.

The purpose of the Canadian International Innovation Program (CIIP) contribution agreement is to support Canadian SMEs identify international partners in CIIP target countries for industrial research and development collaboration that has good potential for commercialization.
