The BC Forest Discovery Centre (BCFDC) is custodian to a large collection of maps, blueprints, plans, and large-format photos that the organization proposes to create digital copies of in order to increase their accessibility and utility to information seekers visiting the museum as well as the broader community it serves.

CPAC is proposing to undertake the work to preserve and add approximately 737 audiovisual recordings to its publicly accessible online video archive. The materials consist of recordings of CPAC’s broadcast coverage of the 2008 and 2011 Canadian federal election campaigns, featuring party leaders’ local campaign events and regional coverage of high-profile ridings, as well as contemporaneous political party conventions.

This project will preserve, protect, and make accessible, archival collections through Mi’kmawey Debert Cultural Centre’s online digital portal and future exhibition galleries. This access-based management project will make collections publicly available while increasing the organization’s digital preservation capacity.

Our project will see the development of a new cloud based storage solution for roughly 8 TB of cultural records to address risks of aging servers, insecure data warehousing, data security gaps, and PI/KHS not benefiting from emerging technology. Working with Ampere (formerly known as Pinnguaq Association), the team will review the current data scope, and technology options; develop project workflows, design elements, and user Experience; execute the migration of data and the Web Application, with demonstrations & testing; and create easy-use portals for content upload and curation.

The SHD has a unique, original, and representative archival fonds that reflects the evolution of residences and the built environment of Centre-du-Québec: the collection of annotated architectural projects and plans by architect André Camirand (1940-2022).

The organization aims to digitize original documents and video productions related to the advocacy for, and early experiments in, Vancouver's community cable system in the 1970s. The materials to be digitized are from two collections: Metro Media Society (est. 1971), and Vancouver Status of Women: Woman Alive (1975-1979).

This project seeks to procure two-year funding to continue offering the AABC workshop “Archives 101: Archival Practice for Indigenous Organizations” through three online and one in-person event.

The project sees two Montreal community archive centres, ARCMTL and the CIDIHICA, collaborate on the implementation and launch of new bilingual catalogue management systems (CMS) and digital asset management systems (DAM). Using current best practices for DAM and a state-of-the-art web design of the public user interface, the project will provide each organization with a portal that dramatically improves public access to and discoverability of their collections.

Main activities of the project would include 1. establishment of a public facing platform housing finding aids and selected archival materials, 2. preservation of a collection of Haida language recordings, and 3. transcription and translation of collections of digital oral history and textual document files.

i. The Grenville County Historical Society is digitizing newspapers from Grenville County (St. Lawrence River to Rideau Canal from Maitland to Cardinal and Merrickville to Kemptville) in order to document its history in a sustainable way. The newspapers date from 1901. Our goal is to make that history accessible to current and future generations.
