The purpose of this CanExport SMEs agreement is to support small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for activities related to export market development that are part of an export business case for a specific target market, particularly where activities are targeting departmental priority markets and sectors.

This project seeks firstly to use proprietary technology to prove that accurate aggregation and quantification of GHG emissions data and associated operational data can be scaled sustainably, and secondly test the hypothesis that effective utilization of quantified GHG data through the Carbonhound system will result in increased revenue for medium-sized businesses.

This project aims to test hypotheses and experiment with new mechanisms to establish a replicable and scalable business process that could lead to new commercial methods for marine detection systems.

NORCAT will provide support and facility access to approximately 4 to 5 SMEs looking to develop, test, commercialize and/or demonstrate new technologies for the underground mining industry. The NORCAT Underground Centre and support services/programs will be used for this initiative.

This project will also support a marketing and awareness effort by the NORCAT Underground Centre aimed at increasing the total yearly number of SMEs utilizing the facility and services.

We will extend our flagship IPM software product by designing and implementing an AI-based engine to analyze and provide summary and recommendations of greenhouse status and action to our growers. This engine will save time and surface the most important trends and metrics within a greenhouse facility, enabling growers to make better, well informed actions faster and easier.

This project aims to redesign Oro’s Mechanic Body product line to keep up with evolving customer needs, with the goal of reducing productions costs and product weight while improving labour efficiency and leveraging new production technologies.

GeoMate is hiring a recent graduate Cartographer through the IRAP New Graduate Program to enhance its geospatial mapping capabilities. The project focuses on developing high-accuracy 3D maps for autonomous driving (AD), urban planning, and simulation applications. The new hire will support GIS data processing, aerial imagery analysis, and vector map creation, contributing to AI-driven mapping solutions. This initiative aligns with GeoMate’s mission to advance smart city infrastructure and mobility technologies while fostering innovation in Canada’s geospatial industry.

This project develops a real-time hyperspectral analysis system for use on production conveyor belts at mining or mineral processing operations. Using visual and hyperspectral imaging with next generation onboard processing modules, it analyzes particle size, shape, volume, and material composition to detect contamination and ore grade variations. Built for harsh industrial environments, it features a rugged enclosure, with resistance to dust, moisture, chemical, shock and vibration. Running on Linux, it will be secure, stable and support MODBUS TCP and OPC UA for seamless automation. The design includes mechanical, electrical, and PCB engineering for a durable, high-performance solution that the mining industry requires.
