On November 30, 2018, Canada, the United States and Mexico signed the Canada-United-States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA). The CUSMA includes an extensive section on copyright that covers a number of items, notably: term of protection, notice-and-notice, national treatment and rights management information. The Government of Canada intends to table a legislation to ratify the CUSMA on January 29, 2020.

More recently, the Standing Committee on Health’s (HESA) 24th Report on the Subcommittee on Sports-Related Concussions in Canada’s study, entitled “Tackling the Problem Head-on: Sports-Related Concussions in Canada” was tabled on June 3, 2019 in the House of Commons. The report contains 13 recommendations to support ongoing actions by the Federal government in this area.

The LGBTQ2+ National Monument will memorialize the historic discrimination against LGBTQ2+ Canadians, including the LGBT Purge. On January 23, 2020, the National Capital Commission’s Board of Directors approved a site for this monument located at the north-east side of the intersection of Wellington Street and Portage Bridge, in proximity to Library and Archives Canada and the Ottawa River.
