ECCC requires a Contractor to conduct two (2) aerological observations per day, each day per year, as well as carry out management and operations duties, at the Fort Nelson Upper Air Station in British Columbia. The contractor will: fill and prepare helium balloons; release them for data collection; transmit the data; and adhere to the Manual of Upper Air Observations at all times. Additional duties include: notifying air traffic control when balloons are released; maintaining a supply inventory and ordering helium; preparing monthly reports; shipping and receiving program related items; performing snow removal as required and providing technical support and equipment maintenance.
