Intersectional Sexualized Violence Training Resources for BC Post-Secondary Institutions
Agreement Number:
BC21925
Agreement Value:
$577,700.00
Agreement Date:
Apr 1, 2022 - Sep 30, 2024
Description:
The Department and the British Columbia Ministry of Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills joint funding initiative will develop sexualized violence training for postsecondary institutions to deliver throughout the province. Specifically, the project will create subject matter expert (SME) advisory groups, develop training and support materials, run pilot sessions, publish openly licensed training, and implement facilitation guides for institutions. The 30-month project will provide institutions with intersectional resources and training for students, faculty, and staff to support those affected by the issue of sexualized violence on campus.
The project will result in institutions having the resources and training to support these populations and reduce the barriers to accessing support at postsecondary institutions. The project will consult with frontline staff at postsecondary institutions and students in the development of this training and these resources. Bccampus will be a strategic partner that will coordinate meetings with stakeholders and SME advisory groups and, overall, serve as project manager (scope, timelines, and budget) in the development of the sexualized violence training resources.
Supplemental funding in January 2024 will be used to translate select resources into additional languages to improve accessibility for international students and to offset project management costs.
