Suggested Response:
• Regaining full market access for our canola seed exports to China is a priority for the Government.
• The Government is taking action on multiple fronts and using every available opportunity to engage with China to resolve this important issue.
• Canada has also initiated consultations with China through the World Trade Organization to restore access for Canadian canola. This process is ongoing.
• Canada stands by our robust inspection system, and our ability to continue to be a supplier of high-quality canola to China and the world.
• The Government is working with stakeholders and provincial governments, taking a Team Canada approach to resolve the issue.

• In 2018, Canadian canola seed exports to China were valued at $2.73 billion (4.77 million tonnes) and Canadian canola oil exports to China were valued at $1.1 billion (1.16 million tonnes), making canola Canada’s largest agricultural export to the country. China is Canada’s largest canola export market.
