Records from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2024 regarding the amount of stateless individuals that were detained in Canada for immigration related grounds. As well as, the duration of each person’s detention and the demographics of each stateless person in detention such as: age, gender, ethnicity and country of former habitual residence. Additionally, the average length of detention of stateless persons, the stage of proceedings at which they are detained, the grounds for detention, the circumstances in which their detention ceased and how often is the legitimacy of the detention re-assessed. Finally, the amount of stateless individuals that were removed from Canada, including the removal orders issued against stateless persons, how many were issued based on overstaying visas, terrorism charges, threats to public safety, criminal convictions/past crimes, failed refugee claimant and threats to public health, the demographics of those removed, the countries that stateless persons were removed from and how many people were sent to each country.
