Records from October 1 to November 7, 2024, related to tariffs and the impacts of the election of Donald Trump on the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and the Privy Council Office. That is, all documents, briefing notes, briefings, memos, emails, analyses, and any other correspondence exchanged between the department responsible for the CBSA, the President of the CBSA and the Privy Council Office, related to the election of Donald Trump and its impacts on tariffs and border activities between Canada and the United States. Specifically, pre-election documents: any documents, analyses, reports or emails related to the potential effects of Donald Trump's proposals regarding the imposition of tariffs and the impact on the CBSA's operations. Any correspondence between the CBSA, the Privy Council Office, and relevant departments regarding strategies to be adopted in response to Mr. Trump's trade policies prior to the election; Post-election documents: all documents, briefing notes and briefings prepared following the election of Donald Trump, particularly regarding the implementation of tariffs or any other measures that have a direct impact on the CBSA's operations; any communications between the Minister responsible for the CBSA, the President of the CBSA and the Privy Council Office regarding the analysis of the immediate impacts of Trump's election on Canada-U.S. trade relations, including the implications for tariffs; internal communication within the Privy Council Office and with the CBSA: All internal correspondence from the Privy Council Office regarding strategies and policies to be adopted in response to the situation created by the election of Donald Trump, and their impact on cross-border trade and customs controls in Canada; and all documents exchanged between the Privy Council Office, the CBSA and relevant departments related to the management of tariffs and impacts on Canada's economy and national security.
