Summary:

Records from January 1, 2006, to February 17, 2026, regarding any exemptions, deviations, or exceptions granted from the Canada Border Services Agency Detector Dog Service Program policy concerning detector dogs during handler absences exceeding 90 days as inconsistent policy application has been acknowledged. Specifically, any records identifying detector dog handlers who retained their assigned detector dog, or whose detector dog was not permanently reassigned, despite the handler being absent for more than 90 days; any records identifying detector dog handlers whose detector dog was reassigned temporarily and later returned to the original handler; and any policies, guidance, memoranda, operational bulletins, or internal communications describing circumstances where exceptions to the extended absence policy have been granted. Exclude personal identifiers where necessary, but include sufficient anonymized information to understand the circumstances, type of leave, duration, and outcome.
