Completed Access to Information Requests

Records from January 1, 2020, to June 3, 2026, regarding the total number of requests made under the Access to Information Act that were closed by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) on the basis that the requester failed to provide identity verification or identification documents; the total number that was subsequently reopened, whether under the original file number or a new file number, following the provision of identity documents by the requester, broken down by year; and the internal policy, directive, or guidance document that authorizes CBSA to close Access to Information Act requests, as distinct from Privacy Act requests, on the basis of a requester's failure to provide identity verification.
