The intent of my request is to better understand CMHC’s internal discussions and assessments related to how funding under the Housing Accelerator Fund, Rapid Housing Initiative, and broader National Housing Strategy programs may have been perceived as disproportionately benefiting large developers, REITs, or corporate landlords, particularly in contrast to the delivery of deeply affordable or non-market housing.

•Please include records relating to affordability requirements only where they are connected to discussions about prioritizing market vs. non-market housing. Please exclude unrelated affordability records to keep the search focused.

•Public/Media Commentary – Please include only commentary on public or media response if it relates to affordability vs. market for the specified projects in Vancouver, Toronto, and Halifax.

•Specific Programs – Please limit the search to the Housing Accelerator Fund and Rapid Housing Initiative. No other programs need to be included at this time.

The timeframe of January 1, 2023 to present applies to the entire request.
