Timely access for Canadians to government information is facilitated through informal processes.
The Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) had initially planned to complete this action in fiscal year 2024-25.
Officials from several policy and functional areas have been actively collaborating on a plan to advance this work in a coordinated manner. Engagement with partners identified additional items for consideration, which are being addressed as part of this process. To support those efforts, the completion of this action has been rescheduled to the 2025-26 fiscal year.
TBS remains committed to ensuring that guidance on retention and disposition of ATI records is clear, up-to-date, and responsive to the needs of Canadians.
