Additional Comments:
The remediation of technical debt is considered a top departmental priority, and this Project was put into place to address the risk that technical debt will affect the delivery of services. This project aims to improve network performance, establish disaster recovery solutions to enable IT continuity, stabilize aging IT systems, and transition to an evergreen life cycle approach. The project is funded via a Treasury Board Submission and will end on March 31, 2027. A set of targeted and prioritized initiatives are funded to achieve the objectives. The Technical Debt Remediation Office (TDRO) was organized within the Innovation, Information and Technology Branch (IITB) to track progress and to report to senior management.
The Technical Debt Remediation Office (TDRO) requires: One level 3 Project Coordinator (with minimum 1-year federal government experience) whom, with the support and guidance of their team lead, will be responsible for the oversight of medium high to high complexity activities. These individuals will collaborate with the TDRO team within IITB to deliver a range of tasks and deliverables. The role involves applying project management methodologies to help oversee and report on the progress and delivery of funded activities under the Technical Debt Remediation Initiative (TDRI). The candidate will meet with activity owners to provide guidance and updates on Scope, Schedule, Risks, Issues and Costs, with the overall objective of reporting progress to management.
