Additional Comments:
The Innovation and Information Technology Branch (IITB) within Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) requires services to provide strategic planning, advice, and recommendations, to support Technical Debt Management and the associated enabling area IT Evergreening. Deloitte has supported the IT Evergreening initiative through the development of the IT Evergreening Departmental Action Plan, which required broad consultation across relevant ESDC teams. This exercise also involved updating the IT Evergreening Vision & Strategy document. Building upon this foundation, the IT Evergreening team is now seeking support from Deloitte to:
• Initiate the implementation of priority actions in the Departmental Action Plan
• Establish the core capabilities necessary to operationalize the ITE function
• Enact changes to the Departmental Action Plan and the associated documents where updates are required
• Support the onboarding of resources into the IT Evergreening Function team and transition activities
Note: The IT Evergreening Departmental Action Plan consists of "Actions" that should be conducted to achieve the Strategic Objectives.
ITE Implementation Support. There are several actions for which the IT Evergreening (ITE) team plans to assume initial ownership for implementation. The Deloitte team will work against the prioritized activities identified in the Departmental Action Plan by the ITE team. The number of strategic actions initiated at any given time will depend on the available capacity of both the ITE and Deloitte team. For each selected action, Deloitte will conduct three main activities:
• Mobilize and initiate action activities
• Conduct a current-state assessment
• Develop recommendations to address gaps identified through the current state assessment
In the scenario where engagement for a selected action needs to be paused, Deloitte will initiate the implementation activities for the next prioritized action as determined by the ITE team. In addition to leading the implementation activities for the selected actions, Deloitte will also support the hand-off activities that will transition responsibility back to the ITE team at the end of this TA.
