Health Science Consultants The contractor will provide pediatric hospital surveillance data for vaccine preventable disease (VPD) surveillance to conduct comprehensive and prospective monitoring of selected serious childhood conditions of public health importance, particularly vaccine-preventable diseases eliminated or under elimination/eradication, in the paediatric population in Canada. This includes data on all hospitalized cases and/or cases presenting to an emergency department of vaccine preventable diseases (Invasive pneumococcal disease, Invasive Haemophilus influenzae, Pertussis, Varicella, Invasive group A streptococcal disease, and Acute Flaccid Paralysis). The contractor will provide information and data to PHAC that supports its mandate in the surveillance of the paediatric population in Canada and assists in achieving its goals.
