Based on recent discussion with the airport, the Penticton Airport has identified an obstacle infringement of the Approach Surface to Runway 16. Transport Canada has requested action by the airport to remove the infringement. SNC Lavalin will investigate two possible resolution approaches as follows: 1. Elimination of the infringement within TP312 4th Edition guidelines. This will entail a displacement of the Runway 16 threshold, which will have an impact on the declared distances and visual aids serving Runway 16; 2. Elimination of the infringement within TP312 5th Edition guidelines. This will include changes to the airfield and obstacle limitation surfaces including the introduction of runway end safety areas, modified clearways and stand-alone take-off surfaces, which will have an impact on the declared distances.
