Endorsement training followed by a Pilot Proficiency Check is required on the ARJ46 to give the Civil Aviation Safety Inspector the minimum acceptable level of knowledge and experience on the aircraft type to conduct oversight. The type endorsement is required by regulation to conduct Approved Check Pilot monitored rides and Pilot Proficiency Checks. It is also required for the Civil Aviation Safety Inspector to conduct aircraft inspections and related regulatory requirements (Special Authorities, Company Operation Manual amendments, special permits etc.) The training consists of one week of classroom and simulator flight training to achieve the standard required.
