The CSPS and StatCan will explore opportunities to formalize skills development and reskilling covering a wide range of data skills needs.

StatCan has a long-standing relationship with the CSPS and continually develops training to meet the needs of the GC. StatCan is currently developing the following courses:
• Foundations of Data Analysis: Steps of the Analytical Process (to be released fall 2023)
• Disaggregated Data Analysis for Better Policy Outcomes (to be released spring 2024)
b. StatCan has also been sharing work on data personas with the Data Literacy Capacity Building Working group.
Foundational-level courses remain popular and available in the learning catalogue, including:
• the Self-Directed Guide to Understanding Data (DDN303)
• the recently updated Introduction to Data in the Public Service (DDN301)
StatCan is in the early stages of developing a series of data products designed for leaders and executives. The goal is to empower those in leadership roles to foster a data culture and maximize the value of data within their organizations.
There is ongoing collaboration between CSPS and StatCan, including:
• a new self-paced course on the foundations of data analysis that will launch imminently
• the development of disaggregated data learning content as micro-learning and as a self-paced course
