The Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin was designed primarily as a reference volume documenting the subsurface geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 24 of the Atlas, Uppermost Cretaceous and Tertiary Strata of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, Figure 2, Uppermost Cretaceous and Tertiary-Index Map. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.

This GIS dataset is part of a digital compilation of the bedrock geology of Alberta. It is one of the datasets used to produce Alberta Geological Survey (AGS) Map 600. This dataset contains polygons representing the location and diameter of the Steen River, Eagle Butte, and Bow City meteorite impact craters (astroblemes). The data were created in geodatabase format and output for public distribution in shapefile format.

The dataset shows claims under the**Safe Maternity** program that were entered in a calendar year and accepted on March 1 of the following year. Workers who are pregnant or breastfeeding can benefit from the Safe Maternity program if their employment involves physical hazards to their health or the health of the unborn or breastfeeding child. The objective of the program is to maintain employment for pregnant or nursing workers whose work involves physical hazards to their health or that of the unborn child. These workers may be assigned to another position or other duties or, if this is not possible, be entitled to a preventive withdrawal. For more information on the program, please refer to the [CNESST] website (https://www.cnesst.gouv.qc.ca/fr/prevention-securite/milieu-travail-sain/programme-pour-une-maternite-sans-danger).

The national agricultural ecumene includes all dissemination areas with 'significant' agricultural activity. Agricultural indicators, such as the ratio of agricultural land on census farms relative to total land area, and total economic value of agricultural production, are used. Regional variations are also taken into account. The ecumene is generalized for small-scale mapping.

Polygons denoting concentrations of sea pens, small and large gorgonian corals and sponges on the east coast of Canada have been identified through spatial analysis of research vessel survey by-catch data following an approach used by the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organization (NAFO) in the Regulatory Area (NRA) on Flemish Cap and southeast Grand Banks. Kernel density analysis was used to identify high concentrations and the area occupied by successive catch weight thresholds was used to identify aggregations. These analyses were performed for each of the five biogeographic zones of eastern Canada. The largest sea pen fields were found in the Laurentian Channel as it cuts through the Gulf of St. Lawrence, while large gorgonian coral forests were found in the Eastern Arctic and on the northern Labrador continental slope.
