The Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators (CESI) program provides data and information to track Canada's performance on key environmental sustainability issues. The Sustainability of timber harvest indicator compares the amount of timber harvested with the estimated wood supply. Wood supply is the volume of timber that can be harvested from an area over a specified period of time while meeting environmental, economic and social objectives. In the indicator, wood supply refers to industrial roundwood supplies only and does not include other types of harvest.

All available bathymetry and related information for Wildhorse Lakes were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.

The endangered eastern prickly pear cactus is a focal species for Lake Erie Sand Spit Savannas (LESSS), one of the most imperiled terrestrial ecosystems in North America. Although monitoring of the of eastern prickly pear cactus has occurred within the park since 1971, accurate estimation of population trends is not possible due to variability in sampling techniques. Presently Point Pelee National Park uses a 10x10m grid to sample selected plots of different densities.

This dataset provides the point locations of horse bands as they were observed during aerial surveys in 2019 and 2021. Each Equine Management Zone is surveyed once per year using helicopter and horses observed on the landscape are reported. Data is stored in file geodatabase, feature class format with associated attributes, meaning each point has a number of horses observed and age class. This dataset simply reports the horses counted on the landscape at one snapshot in time.
