As part of the climate change research, data from the SPOT/VEGETATION instrument are systematically corrected for period 1998-2004 and provided in this archive. The VGT archive contains observations acquired by the VEGETATION sensors 1 and 2 onboard SPOT 4 and 5 satellites. Initial data type 10-day S10 composites provided by the Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales (CNES) and pre-processed at the Flemish Institute for Technological Research (VITO) in Belgium in full resolution (1km) were re-projected into standard Lambert conformal conic map projection and further corrected for bi-directional Reflectance Distribution Function (BRDF) effect and cloud contamination. Growing seasons 1998-2004 are presented with twenty 10-day composites from April 11, to October 31.

Supplementary Estimates are part of the normal parliamentary approval process to ensure that previously planned government initiatives receive the necessary funding to move them forward, therefore meeting the needs of Canadians. They present information to Parliament on the Government of Canada’s spending requirements that were not sufficiently developed in time for inclusion in the Main Estimates, and will from time to time include urgent but unforeseen expenditures, such as natural disasters (an ice storm, H1N1, etc.). Supplementary Estimates directly support an appropriation act. Supplementary Estimates are published throughout the year; each release is identified alphabetically (A, B, C, etc.).

This map of the magnetic total field was derived from data acquired during an aeromagnetic survey carried out by Fugro Airborne Surveys during the period April 17, 2006 to August 26, 2007. The data were recorded using a split-beam cesium vapour magnetometer (sensitivity = 0.005 nT) mounted in the tail boom of a Cessna Caravan aircraft. The nominal traverse and control line spacings were, respectively, 800 m and 2600 m, and the aircraft flew at a nominal terrain clearance of 250 m. Traverse lines were oriented N30 degrees E with orthogonal control lines. The flight path was recovered following post-flight differential corrections to the raw Global Positioning System data and inspection of ground images recorded by a vertically-mounted video camera.

Census data showed employment reached an estimated 16 021 200 in 2006, up 1 326 000 from 2001. Just two western provinces - Alberta and British Columbia - accounted for a third of this increase. During the same five-year period, the unemployment rate fell in every province and territory, except Ontario and the Northwest Territories. The shift in industrial demand for workers to different parts of the economy had an impact on the occupational make-up of the nation.

Elk are by far the dominant ungulate in
Waterton Lakes Naitonal Park, with a
population large enough to influence
park ecosystems, particularly in the
montane and aspen parkland ecoregions. As important grazers, they help to
maintain grassland health by preventing
woody plant encroachment, but overgrazing
will cause grassland health to
deteriorate. In Waterton Lakes National
Park, aerial elk surveys (Figure 1) have
been conducted since the early 1970s. The winter elk population census is conducted by means of an aerial or ground survey, in which a complete minimum population count is calculated, with the goal of detecting change over time.
