Canadian Wetlands Inventory (CWI) data for the Radisson region. Created according to the method developed by the Canadian Wildlife Service, Quebec Region. Between 2003 and 2007, the Canadian Wildlife Service, Quebec Region (CWS-QC) produced wetland maps for several sites in Quebec. This mapping was carried out as part of the Canadian Wetland Inventory (CWI), an initiative launched in 2002 in order to classify wetlands into the five major classes of the Canadian Wetlands Classification System, namely: bogs, fens, marshes, swamps and shallow open water.

Contained within the 3rd Edition (1957) of the Atlas of Canada is a map that shows four condensed maps of non-ferrous metal mines, including refineries, smelters and reduction works that were in production or coming into production in Eastern Canada circa 1955. As production figures for individual mines were not available, an attempt was made to convey their relative importance by showing the ore mill capacities. The metallurgical industries associated with non-ferrous metal mining convert most of the ore produced into metal in Canada but there were some exceptions. No lithium metal was produced in Canada, while the product of the lithium mine in Quebec was shipped as spodumene concentrates; similarly, the product of the molybdenum mine in Quebec was shipped as molybdenum concentrates.

The following standard is used to evaluate Parks Canada Agency’s goal to manage wildland fire and conduct prescribed fire activities to restore and maintain the ecological integrity of park lands. A 20% natural fire cycle is the set percentage that allows fire to play a role as a natural disturbance in ecosystems while being realistic and achievable considering physical and financial constraints, the variability in wildland fire regimes in MRGNP and the need to balance public safety. The 20% long term average was obtained by analysing the variation in area burned in national parks of different sizes, fire regimes and recent wildland fire management history. This area burn target should be achievable and maintained on a yearly basis, irrespective of wildland fire activity in the period of analysis.

In 2010, for the Alberta Geological Survey Saline Aquifer Mapping Project, we collected and analyzed 38 water samples from oil wells producing from geological units, including the Glauconitic, Ostracod, Ellerslie, Banff, Wabamun, Nisku, Leduc and Cooking Lake, within 100 km of Edmonton, Alberta. We analyzed filtered water samples for pH, density and specific conductance. oxygen, hydrogen and strontium isotopes. and dissolved constituents, including sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, barium, strontium, lithium, iron, manganese, chloride, bromide, sulphate, sulphide, silica and inorganic carbon.
