Polygons denoting concentrations of sea pens, small and large gorgonian corals and sponges on the east coast of Canada have been identified through spatial analysis of research vessel survey by-catch data following an approach used by the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organization (NAFO) in the Regulatory Area (NRA) on Flemish Cap and southeast Grand Banks. Kernel density analysis was used to identify high concentrations and the area occupied by successive catch weight thresholds was used to identify aggregations. These analyses were performed for each of the five biogeographic zones of eastern Canada. The largest sea pen fields were found in the Laurentian Channel as it cuts through the Gulf of St. Lawrence, while large gorgonian coral forests were found in the Eastern Arctic and on the northern Labrador continental slope.
The Canadian Centre for Climate Modelling and Analysis (CCCma) Earth System Grid Federation (ESGF) Dataset provides the Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) node on an internationally-coordinated system of climate model data dissemination developed specifically for the World Climate Research Programme’s Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5 (CMIP5). More specifically, this dataset provides the department's climate model output for international use, particularly in support of the IPCC 5th Assessment. This dataset is of use in sophisticated climate model validation and climate change impact studies. The CCCma ESGF Dataset is compliant with specific international standards to ensure interoperability with other international climate modelling institutions.

Data are primarily onshore and cover widespread regions of Canada. The cadastral framework consists of active and superseded cadastral parcel, roads, easements, administrative areas, active lines, points and annotations. The cadastral lines form the boundaries of the parcels. COGO attributes are associated to the lines and depict the adjusted framework of the cadastral fabric.

The epiphytic cyanobacterium Gloeotrichia pisum forms spherical colonies embedded in a gelatinous matrix that is attached to submerged aquatic vegetation. In surveys of two fluvial lakes of the St. Lawrence River conducted in 2006–2007, growth conditions and diazotrophic ability in conjunction with the biomass and condition of its supporting macrophyte, Vallisneria americana, were examined. G. pisum integrates complex, temporally variable water-quality characteristics that are dependent upon hydrology and water residence time, thus acting as an early warning indicator of incipient habitat degradation that may lead to cyanobacterial proliferation and low biomass of vascular macrophytes. The St. Lawrence Action Plan (SLAP) 2011 to 2026 (see http://planstlaurent.qc.ca/en/home.html) is the latest Canada-Quebec Agreement on the St. Lawrence and builds on the four previous agreements implemented since 1988.
