The National Air Photo Library (NAPL) of Natural Resources Canada archives over 6 million aerial photographs covering all of Canada, some of which date back to the 1920s. This collection includes Time Series of aerial orthophoto mosaics over a selection of major cities or targeted areas that allows to observe various changes that occurs overtime in those selected regions. These mosaics are disseminated through the Data Cube Platform implemented by NRCan using geospatial big data management technologies. These technologies enable the rapid and efficient visualization of high-resolution geospatial data and allow for the rapid generation of dynamically derived products.

In 2014, the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) initiated a Play-Based Regulation (PBR) pilot project as a step towards implementation of the Unconventional Regulatory Framework. One of the goals of the PBR pilot is to encourage companies in the unconventional play area to work together on plans for surface development to minimize the numbers of facilities and surface impacts. This dataset is one of a series created using earth observation imagery to assess surface change caused by energy exploration. The PBR area extends from Twp.

The Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators (CESI) program provides data and information to track Canada's performance on key environmental sustainability issues. The International comparison of urban air quality indicators compare ambient levels (concentrations) of air pollutants in selected Canadian urban areas with levels in selected international urban areas. The indicators report the concentration of ground-level ozone (as the annual average of the daily maximum 8-hour average), fine particulate matter, sulphur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide (as the annual average of the daily 24-hour average) in ambient air. These indicators are intended to provide a general comparison of ambient levels of air pollutants in selected Canadian urban areas with those measured in other international urban areas.

This dataset contains adjusted daily rainfall (R) and snowfall (S) data from all Canadian stations reporting rainfall and snowfall for which we have metadata to do the adjustments. The processing includes inspection and adjustment using quality control procedures customized for producing gridded datasets, including: (1) conversion of snowfalls to their water equivalents; (2) corrections for gauge undercatch and evaporation due to wind effect, for gauge specific wetting loss, and for trace precipitation amount (same as in Mekis and Vincent, 2011); (3) treatment of flags (e.g. accumulation flags). A total of 2146 stations were processed; their record lengths vary from 3 to167 years.
