To develop a database of high quality CTD observations at key locations in DFO’s Pacific Region, 22 stations have been selected for sampling as often as possible. Chief Scientists of DFO vessels with CTD equipment on board are asked to acquire a CTD profile at as many of these stations as possible. There may be circumstances that will prevent conducting a CTD cast but the intent is to collect as many as possible such that over time useful time series of CTD profiles will be available at these locations.
All available bathymetry and related information for Whitney Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.
The coal zone boundary for the Ardley Coal Zone is based on subcrops generated by Alberta Geological Survey Special Report 007 (Regional Evaluation of the Coalbed Methane Potential in the Plains and Foothills of Alberta, Stratigraphy and Rank Study). We used additional coal picks from various sources to refine the boundary.
This dataset contains the art works in the Canada Council Art Bank collection. For 40 years, the Art Bank has been collecting work by the best Canadian artists of our times. It has become the world's largest collection of contemporary Canadian art with over 17,000 paintings, prints, photographs and sculptures by some 3,000 artists. More than one-third of the collection is on view in public spaces and private organizations across Canada, through art rentals, loans, and outreach programs.
30-year Average Number of Days with Minimum Daily Temperature above 20 °C is defined as the count of climate days during the year where the minimum daily temperature was above 20 °C.
These values are calculated across Canada in 10x10 km cells
To provide information that will allow users of the data to select crop varieties and hybrids that will be successful in a particular area.
This table is part of a series of tables that present a portrait of Canada based on the various census topics. The tables range in complexity and levels of geography. Content varies from a simple overview of the country to complex cross-tabulations; the tables may also cover several censuses.
Clinical trials are an important step in health product development. As products evolve, so do clinical trial types and designs. Clinical trial studies increasingly focus on individualized treatments rather than larger patient groups. New technologies are also changing the way we conduct studies.

The Canadian Brewer Spectrophotometer Network (CBSN) monitors the total thickness of the ozone layer (known as total column ozone) and ultraviolet (UV) radiation at selected monitoring locations across Canada. The objectives of the network are to provide long-term stratospheric ozone data for periodic assessment of the state of ozone layer; use the data for validating satellite ozone data (total ozone and UV); and provide long-term data of spectral UV for biological effect studies (e.g., vitamin D production), ozone data for Environment Canada UV index forecasts, and data for studying current and emerging issues such as climate change (stratosphere).
