The canopy is defined by the projection on the ground of the tops (crowns) of trees (including leaves, branches and trunk), which is visible from the sky. Any vegetation with a height greater than 2 m has been taken into account. Canopy mapping was carried out by deep learning methods, based on variables (1 m resolution) calculated from raw airborne lidar data. It covers Quebec's six census metropolitan areas (CMAs): Gatineau, Montreal, Quebec City, Saguenay, Sherbrooke and Trois-Rivières. The production of this data was coordinated by the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ) and carried out by the forest remote sensing laboratory of the Sainte-Foy Forestry Education and Research Center (CERFO). NOTE: The canopy height per pixel is available in raster files that you can download (see the data upload guide in the “Documentation” section).**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).**

The coastal ecosystem is an indicator of the ecological integrity of the MANPRC. In total, 31 rare plant species are found in the coastal ecosystem of the MANCPR. Rare plants have been selected as a measure of the coastal ecosystem indicator. The objectives of the monitoring program are to detect changes over time in 1) the number of colonies of rare plants and 2) the abundance of focal species.

All available bathymetry and related information for Shiningbank Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.
