The Beluga whale critical habitat, which includes the Upper Estuary, the Saguenay River up to Sainte-Marguerite Bay, and the southern channel of the Lower Estuary, supports the vital functions of calving and rearing of the young. This dataset provides information on the language obligations of offices for approximately 180 federal institutions subject to Part IV of the Official Languages Act and the Official Languages (Communications with and Services to the Public) Regulations. "Language obligations" refers to the obligation of an office to communicate with and provide services to the public in English, in French or in both official languages. The obligations of offices are reviewed periodically, and the information contained in this dataset is as of March 31, 2018. This list excludes offices that are outside Canada, offices of Canada Post, routes, toll-free long distance services, and some offices for security reasons (e.g., the Canadian Security Intelligence Service).
The flood extent products are derived from satellite imagery with a system developed and operated by the Earth Sciences Sector (ESS) of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). This emergency mapping service is activated for large flood events in Canada. Products are generated and distributed in near real time as processed imagery becomes available. NRCan works closely with Public Safety Canada's National Headquarters in Ottawa, Regional offices, and Government Operations Centre (GOC) to define of user needs, technical feasibility and for the coordination of satellite acquisition planning.
An archive of 2D regional seismic and long period magnetotelluric data collected during 20 years of work under the LITHOPROBE project. Data are primarily onshore and cover widespread regions of Canada. Available data types include raw digital data, processed sections, and images of final sections, as well as auxiliary information required for analysis of the data.
This product provides high resolution orthophotography for the specified Canada Lands located in Quebec. It contains orthorectified mosaique images that were derived from high resolution orthophotography tiles. The data is available in ECW (Enhanced Compression Wavelet), MrSID (multiresolution seamless image database) or TIFF (Tag Image File Format) formats. Some of the orthophotography tiles are also available upon request.
