Biogeoclimatic Ecosystem Classification (BEC) subzone\variant\phase boundaries with percent protected, number of overlapping protected areas and other attributes added as a result of geoprocessing in the Protected Area System Overview (PASO) application. Protected area and park representation by BEC unit provides a small scale ecosystem classification context for natural resource planning processes such as; management plans, land use zoning, environmental risk assessment, landscape analysis, habitat supply, and management of high priority species. Biogeoclimatic subzones are the basic unit of the BEC system. Subzones are grouped into biogeoclimatic zones to create more generalized units, and subdivided into biogeoclimatic variants and phases to create more specific or climatically homogeneous units.

The Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin was designed primarily as a reference volume documenting the subsurface geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 17 of the Atlas, Paleographic Evolution of the Western Canada Foreland Basin, Figure 8, Cadotte/Tussock Paleogeography. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.

Benthos monitoring aims to determine the status of the benthic macroinvertebrate communities in the river, depending on the composition of the substrate and the type of flow. Information on benthic macroinvertebrate samples taken from benthos monitoring stations is classified according to the benthos health index: iSbG for coarse-substrate streams and iSBM for soft-substrate streams. The benthos health index (ISB) is a multimetric index based on benthic macroinvertebrates that assesses the biotic integrity of shallow rivers. The benthos tracking dataset includes a layer of sampling stations, a layer of polygons presenting drainage areas at some of the stations, and a data table comprising the compilation of land use by year for each of these drainage areas. **This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).**

All available bathymetry and related information for Hasse Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.
