Canadian cannabis market data for all legal cannabis sales as well as for medical, non-medical sales, inventory and cultivation area data.

Health Canada collects data on cannabis under the Cannabis Tracking System Ministerial Order. Data collected is for these types of cannabis in the legal industry: dried cannabis, edible cannabis, cannabis extracts, cannabis topicals, cannabis plants and cannabis seeds. Data categories includes: medical sales, non-medical sales, packaged inventory, unpackaged inventory and licensed area.

A federal licence is required to cultivate, process and sell cannabis for medical or non-medical purposes.

How to access cannabis for medical purposes.

Health Canada collects and publishes data on cannabis used for medical purposes under the Cannabis Act, the Cannabis Regulations, and the Cannabis Tracking System Order. Additional data on cannabis is available on the cannabis research and data page. In particular, the amount of cannabis sold for medical purposes is published on a quarterly basis and is available on the cannabis market data page.

The Cannabis Act came into force on October 17, 2018. Since that date, new regulations have replaced the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR). Some changes have been made to improve patient access.
