A digital grid of the top of the Empress Formation where present, or the topography of the surrounding landscape, where the formation is absent. This includes the units 1 to 3 of the Empress Formation in buried valleys, as well as undifferentiated Empress interfluve sediments resting on the bedrock surface between buried valleys. The unit is originally modelled from borehole data and adjusted to the bedrock surface, the surfaces of units 1, 2, 3 and interfluve units of the Empress Formation, and the present-day land surface. The grid is generated at a 250 metre cell-size resolution, based on 2003 information.

The Phase 1 (Broad Scale) Forest Inventory was initiated in 1949 and completed by 1956. The Phase 1 (Broad Scale) Forest Inventory included all publicly owned forested lands in the province except Indian lands, national parks, and an area known as the Rocky Mountains Forest Reserve. The Phase 1 (Broad Scale) Forest Inventory was used to define lands suitable for agriculture, to determine timber harvest levels and plan forest protection and timber and industrial development. Through aerial photo interpretation, land was classified as productive, potentially productive, or non-productive.

This map series includes the Reconnaissance Vegetation Inventory maps as well as Current Vegetation Cover (CVC) for Wildlife Resource Inventory and the Assessment and Current Cover Types (CCT) for Wildlife Habitat Inventory. This series of reports and hardcopy maps provides a broad vegetation inventory for the Green Area and White Area. The maps depict both forestry and agricultural based vegetation cover types including those native and introduced to the province, as well as height, and density. In some cases non-vegetated areas are included in the inventory.

This GIS dataset is part of a digital compilation of the bedrock geology of NTS areas 72E, 72L, 73D, and 73E. It is one of the datasets used to produce Alberta Geological Survey (AGS) Maps 567, 568, 569, and 570. This dataset represents the compilation of existing geological maps and original geological mapping by AGS staff. Mapping included field observations and creating three-dimensional models of subsurface stratigraphy based on the interpretation of geophysical logs from oil and gas wells.
