The’ Qu'Appelle Valley Lakes system – Topography and Imagery’ series consists of topographic and imagery data for lakes within the Qu'Appelle River Valley in central Saskatchewan. This data was collected in the fall of 2008 and consists of contour lines, shorelines, spot heights, tile index, and imagery
The Agricultural Region of Alberta Soil Inventory Database (AGRASID3.0) Detailed Soil Survey dataset series at a scale of 1:100 000 consists of geo-referenced soil polygons with linkages to attribute data found in the associated Component File (CMP), Soil Names File (SNF) and Soil Layer File (SLF).
Together, these datasets describe the spatial distribution of soils and associated landscapes within the agricultural region of Alberta (an area of approximately 26M ha.)
This land cover data set was derived from the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) sensor operating on board the United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) satellites. Information on the NOAA series of satellites can be found at www.noaa.gov/satellites.html The vegetation and land cover information set has been classified into twelve categories. Information on the classification of the vegetation and land cover, raster to vector conversion, generalization for cartographic presentations is included in the paper "The Canada Vegetation and Land Cover: A Raster and Vector Data Set for GIS Applications - Uses in Agriculture" (https://geogratis.cgdi.gc.ca/download/landcover/scale/gis95ppr.pdf). A soil quality evaluation was obtained by cross-referencing the AVHRR information with Census of Agriculture records and biophysical (Soil Landscapes of Canada) data and is also included in the above paper.
The Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s LiDAR Projects dataset was created from existing spatial data. It contains the footprints (outlines) of all the LiDAR data that is openly distributed by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.

The dataset indicates basic information about the location, source and properties of the data.
The Agriculture Extent of Canada derived from the AVHRR (Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer) was obtained from the GeoGratis web site (www.geogratis.ca). All polygons with an area less than 50 Km sq were eliminated by GeoGratis before we received the data. This product allows the user to see the significant areas of cropland and rangeland across Canada. The Community Pasture Program was a land-management service provided in the Prairie provinces. The program ended on March 31, 2019. The geographic data series that was associated with the program included information about program geography and facilities, including representations of fences and the fields they enclose, pasture outlines and features such as corrals, dams and gates.
