The Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators (CESI) program provides data and information to track Canada's performance on key environmental sustainability issues. The indicator summarizes the status and trends of ecosystems within national parks. Each ecological integrity indicator consists of a rating (good, fair, poor) and a trend (improving, stable, declining), based on monitoring results and knowledge of ecological systems. The Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators (CESI) reports on the ecological integrity of national parks as an indicator of the condition of Canada's protected areas.

The Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators (CESI) program provides data and information to track Canada's performance on key environmental sustainability issues. The Ecological integrity of national parks indicator summarizes the status and trends of ecosystems within national parks. This indicator supports the measurement of progress towards the long-term goal of the Federal Sustainable Development Strategy 2016–2019: Lands and forests support biodiversity and provide a variety of ecosystem services for generations to come. As of March 2016, the condition of 90% of park ecological integrity indicators was maintained or improved from 2011.

The Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators (CESI) program provides data and information to track Canada's performance on key environmental sustainability issues. The Municipal wastewater treatment indicator measures the level of wastewater treatment provided to the Canadian population. Higher levels of wastewater treatment reduce the risk of pollutants from raw wastewater reaching the environment, where they pose risks to human and environmental health. This indicator is not a measure of municipalities' compliance with municipal, provincial or federal wastewater regulations or treatment standards.

The Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators (CESI) program provides data and information to track Canada's performance on key environmental sustainability issues. The Residential water use indicator reports the percentage of Canadian households with water meters and per capita residential water use in Canada from 1991 to 2011. Information is provided to Canadians in a number of formats including: static and interactive maps, charts and graphs, HTML and CSV data tables and downloadable reports. See the supplementary documentation for data sources and details on how those data were collected and how the indicator was calculated.

The Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators (CESI) program provides data and information to track Canada's performance on key environmental sustainability issues. The Global trends in protected areas indicator reports on global terrestrial and marine area afforded protection for the conservation of nature. The indicator also shows a comparison of area protected among 10 selected countries. Global information on protected areas is collected, analyzed and made available by the World Database on Protected Areas.

The Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators (CESI) program provides data and information to track Canada's performance on key environmental sustainability issues. The water quality indicators measure water conditions for various locations across Canada. It combines measurements of a wide range of substances found in water samples. The indicator focuses on how suitable the water is for plants and animals; aquatic life is present in all water bodies, is sensitive to pollution, and reflects the overall health of aquatic ecosystems.

The Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators (CESI) program provides data and information to track Canada's performance on key environmental sustainability issues. The Sustainable fish harvest indicator compares harvest rates with established harvest limits. These limits are based on scientific information, providing a direct measure of whether we are managing the use of these resources within ecosystem limits. It is one measure of fishing pressure on wild fish stocks.

The Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators (CESI) program provides data and information to track Canada's performance on key environmental sustainability issues. The Status of major fish stocks indicator reports the status of major fish stocks. Federal biologists use a variety of scientific methods to assess fish stock levels and assign 1 of 3 stock status zones (Healthy, Cautious or Critical) by comparing the size of the stocks to reference points. If there is insufficient information to be able to determine the stock status zone, the status is uncertain.
