The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) uses the Canadian Chronic Disease Surveillance System (CCDSS) to conduct national surveillance of 20 chronic conditions, including diagnosed dementia ("all types of dementia" when not specifically mentioned) and diagnosed ischemic heart disease (IHD). This publication provides the first estimates on dementia and IHD comorbidity among Canadians aged 65 years and older using data from the CCDSS.
