The Public Land Recreation Trail dataset is comprised of all the polygons that represent Public Land Recreation Trails in Alberta. A Public Land Recreation Trail is an area of public land designated under the authority of Section 180 of the Public Lands Administration Regulation of the Public Lands Act. Public Land Recreation Trail was formerly known as Forest Recreation Trail under the Forest Recreation Regulation under the Forests Act. No changes to the Forest Recreation Trail data layer were made when it was migrated to become the Public Land Recreation Trail dataset.

This measure will track impacts associated with recreational use and natural changes that occur on the Fundy National Park trail system. Each trail is evaluated according to a qualitative trail condition rating system. A park-wide footprint assessment for the entire trail network will also be determined; these two measurements, when combined, would provide the trail condition index.

The Ontario Trail Network (OTN) contains geospatial networks of trails in urban, rural and wilderness settings that are managed by a named organization for transportation, recreation, active living or tourism purposes. The OTN relies on data sharing partnerships with local trail organizations and municipal, provincial and federal governments for ongoing updates and maintenance. Trails in the OTN must be: * associated with a named trail organization * intended for free or paid public access * marked and maintained The OTN collection includes two data classes: * Ontario Trail Network segment derived * Ontario Trail Network access points Ontario Trail Network segment derived This spatial dataset represents segments of trails in the OTN. Trail segments define a linear corridor through the natural or urban environment.
