Data with the following information for large landfills: * landfill capacity * fill rates * estimated remaining capacity * engineering designs * reporting and monitoring details This dataset was last updated in 2014 and contains out of date information. It has been replaced by the Ontario landfills dataset.
This is a listing of approved landfills in Ontario. Here you will find basic information on Ontario’s landfills including: * Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) number * Ministry of the Environment, Conservation (MECP) region * MECP district * client name * site name * site address * site municipality * operation status (open/closed) Landfill sites map This dataset replaces two datasets (large landfills and small landfills) which were last updated in 2014 and contain out of date information. **Note the size and capacity of landfills are not available at this time but may be made available in future updates to this data. More detailed information may be obtained by contacting the local MECP district office using the link here.
This dataset provides a summary of information reported by landfills regarding their landfill gas collection (LFG), methane destruction and/or use, and associated emission reductions as required by Section 11 of O.Reg. 347 under the Environmental Protection Act. Data includes: * Year * Environmental Compliance Approval Number (ECA) * Landfill Site Name * Site Address * Approved Site Volume (m3) * Is LFG collected? (Yes/No) * LFG Destruction % - Flare * LFG Destruction % - Electricity Generation * LFG – Other % * LFG Other % - Description * Annual LFG Collected (m3) * Methane (%) * Destruction Efficiency (%) – Flare * Destruction Efficiency (%) – Electricity Generation * Destruction Efficiency (%) – Other * Emissions Reductions – Global Warming Potential (GWP) 21 (tonnes carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e)) * Emissions Reductions - GWP 25 (tCO2e) * Carbon dioxide generated from Methane Destruction (tonnes) ### Related dataset(s) * Small Landfill Sites * Large Industrial GHG Emissions
A "contaminant attenuation zone" is a three-dimensional zone that is, * located on land adjacent to a landfilling site, * in the subservice or extends into the subsurface, and * is used or is intended to be used for the attenuation of contaminants from the landfilling site to levels that will not have an unacceptable impact beyond the boundary of the zone. Ontario's Healthy Babies Healthy Children program helps infants and children up to age 6 and their families through: * risk screening and assessments * referrals to community programs and services * supports for new parents These shapefiles provide geospatial data for mapping the 34 Healthy Babies and Healthy Children delivery regions in Ontario. Please note: The Healthy Babies Healthy Children program is delivered through Ontario’s public health units in partnership with hospitals and other community partners. The Healthy Babies Healthy Children boundaries align with Public Health Unit boundaries.
An interactive web application illustrating the locations of landfills and waste transfer stations registered with the WRARS Program as well as First Nations landfills by facility type, owner type and by class. An interactive web application illustrating the locations of landfills and waste transfer stations registered with the Waste Reduction and Recycling Support (WRARS) Program as well as First Nations landfills by facility type, owner type and by class (for landfills only excluding First Nations landfills). Pop-ups for each location registered with the WRARS Program provide additional information, including the name of the facility owner (e.g., the name of the municipality, business, community council or government agency that owns/operates the facility). Pop-ups for the First Nations landfills only provide the facility name.
