The Canadian Hospitals Injury Reporting and Prevention Program (CHIRPP) is an emergency department–based injury and poisoning surveillance system established in 1990 in response to the need for enhanced and timelier injury surveillance information in Canada. The CHIRPP currently operates in 11 pediatric and six general hospitals across Canada and is funded and administered by the Public Health Agency of Canada. The purpose of this report is to provide an overview of hoverboard-related injuries reported to CHIRPP’s electronic system (eCHIRPP) as of July 7, 2016.

At the end of each fiscal year, government-wide financial information is published in the Public Accounts. This dataset, based on the Volume 3 of the Public Accounts, provides details of education costs incurred in the given fiscal year. For the purpose of this statement, an education cost represents the cost of any long-term education activity. That activity is any training or development given to a Government employee and conducted at an educational institution outside of the Public Service that amounted or will amount to a total of 65 working days or more over a maximum period of three (3) years, or that involved or will involve total expenditures in excess of $25,000 (including salary).
