We publish Canada’s greenhouse gas (GHG) and air pollutant emissions projections each year. The GHG emissions projections help us measure progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and combating climate change. GHG emissions projections are presented for a few scenarios. The air pollutant projections reflect our action to reduce air pollution.

The Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators (CESI) program provides data and information to track Canada's performance on key environmental sustainability issues. The Greenhouse gas emissions from large facilities indicator reports total emissions of large greenhouse gas emitters in Canada for the year 2017. The Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program ensures that greenhouse gas emissions from Canada's largest emitters are measured and reported. This mandatory reporting contributes to the development, implementation and evaluation of climate change and energy policies and strategies in Canada.

The Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators (CESI) program provides data and information to track Canada's performance on key environmental sustainability issues. The indicators show trends in anthropogenic (human-made) greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. It includes emissions for 7 greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, sulphur hexafluoride, perfluorocarbons, hydrofluorocarbons and nitrogen trifluoride). Greenhouse gases trap heat in the Earth's atmosphere, just as the glass of a greenhouse keeps warm air inside.

The inventory of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions produced by human activity in Quebec has been maintained annually since 1990 by the Ministère de l'Environnement et de la Fight Against Climate Change. This inventory is based on data collected from companies and institutions, and is based on data obtained primarily from Statistics Canada, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), the Department of Energy and Natural Resources (MERN), the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food from the Quebec (MAPAQ), the Ministère des Forests, de la Faune et des Parcs (MFFP) and the Institut de la statistique du Québec (ISQ). This dataset presents Quebec GHG emissions from the most recent balance sheet, by sector and subsector by year since 1990. This balance sheet is available on this page: [http://www.environnement.gouv.qc.ca/changements/ges/index.htm](http://www.environnement.gouv.qc.ca/changements/ges/index.htm).

The Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators (CESI) program provides data and information to track Canada's performance on key environmental sustainability issues. The Global greenhouse gas emissions indicator reports global human emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs). The indicator provides a global perspective on Canada's share of GHG emissions. Information is provided to Canadians in a number of formats including: static and interactive maps, charts and graphs, HTML and CSV data tables and downloadable reports.
