The cross-sectional public-use microdata file for the Survey of Financial Security is a collection of income, assets, debts and wealth data on the economy of Canadian families. The production of this file includes many safeguards to prevent the identification of any one person or family.
The file is produced at the economic family level with information on family demographics; income; financial behaviours and attitudes; principal residence; assets, debts and net worth; family composition and size; and the major income recipient.

This public use microdata file (PUMF) is from the Canadian Alcohol and Drugs Survey and includes information about the use of substances, including alcohol, cannabis and other drugs. This product is for users who prefer to do their own analysis by focusing on specific subgroups in the population or by cross-classifying variables that were not the focus of our release in The Daily.

The Public Use Microdata File (PUMF) for the Canadian Tobacco and Nicotine Survey (CTNS) provides information to fill important data gaps related to vaping, cannabis, and tobacco usage. The data will inform policy and provide a current snapshot of use across Canada. Until 2017, Statistics Canada conducted the Canadian Tobacco, Alcohol and Drugs Survey (CTADS), which collected data on tobacco as well as alcohol and drug use in Canada. In 2019, the Canadian Alcohol and Drugs Survey (CADS) was conducted to collect data on alcohol and drug use independently from the Canadian Tobacco and Nicotine Survey (CTNS) which was conducted to primarily collect data on tobacco and nicotine.

This public use microdata file (PUMF) contains non-aggregated data for a wide variety of variables collected from the Labour Force Survey (LFS). The LFS collects monthly information on the labour market activities of Canada's working age population. This product is for users who prefer to do their own analysis by focusing on specific subgroups in the population or by cross-classifying variables that are not in our catalogued products.

The public use microdata file (PUMF) from the Canadian Internet Use Survey (CIUS) provides data on the adoption and use of digital technologies and the online behaviors of individuals 15 years of age and older living in the ten provinces of Canada. The survey is built off the previous iteration of the CIUS, last conducted in 2012. While there is some comparability with the 2012 CIUS, the 2018 survey was redesigned in 2018 to reflect the rapid pace at which Internet technology has evolved since the previous survey iteration. The files include information on how individuals use the Internet, smartphones, and social networking websites and apps, including their intensity of use, demand for certain online activities, and interactions through these technologies.

The Public Use Microdata File (PUMF) for the Survey of Household Spending (SHS) provides information on household expenditures as well as selected information on dwelling characteristics and household equipment. The production of this file includes many safeguards to prevent the identification of any one person or household. PUMFs were produced on an annual basis for SHS 1997 to 2009, before a redesigned survey was introduced with the 2010 reference year. The SHS 2017 PUMF is the first SHS PUMF based on data collected after the 2010 survey redesign.

This public use microdata file is from the fifth survey in the Canadian Perspectives Survey Series and includes information about technology use, cyber security practices and online spending during the pandemic. This product is provided using Statistics Canada's electronic file transfer service.
