The dataset includes subsurface stratigraphic picks for the formations that comprise the Beaverhill Lake Group (Townships 29 to 113, Ranges 1W4 to 13W6) made from wireline geophysical well logs. The dataset also includes picks for the underlying Elk Point Group, and the overlying Woodbend Group. Lithostratigraphic picks for the Beaverhill Lake Group include the Fort Vermilion Formation, the Swan Hills Formation, the Slave Point Formation, and the Waterways Formation (top of the Beaverhill Lake Group). Lithostratigraphic picks for the underlying Elk Point Group include the Prairie Evaporite Formation, the Sulphur Point Formation, and the Watt Mountain Formation (base of the Beaverhill Lake Group).

This GIS dataset is part of a digital compilation of the bedrock geology of Alberta. It is one of the datasets used to produce Alberta Geological Survey (AGS) Map 600. This dataset contains 1) geological units that are represented by lines because they are too narrow to represent as polygons at 1:1 000 000 scale; 2) stratigraphic terminology boundaries that represent the approximate locations of where the names applied to intervals of strata change. These commonly correspond to lateral facies changes, which are gradational.

This is a raster dataset of the thickness of the Paskapoo Formation. It is a derived dataset created by the subtraction of the base of the Paskapoo Formation from the top of the formation, which in the western part of Alberta is also the bedrock topography. The gridded isopach data cover only the undeformed part of the Paskapoo Formation that extends west to the front ranges of the Rocky Mountains. The isopach data do not include those parts of the formation affected by tectonic folding or thrusting.

This dataset represents the topography of the top of the Paskapoo Formation, which is also the bedrock topography in the western part of Alberta. We clipped the surface from Alberta Geological Survey's Bedrock Topography of Alberta grid using the areal extent of the Paskapoo Formation shown on Alberta Geological Survey Map 236, Geological Map of Alberta. The dataset is in ESRI ASCII grid format

The dataset contains the results of geochemical analyses of rock samples from the Bad Heart Formation, Clear Hills region and Smoky River region (northwestern Alberta) collected by Alberta Geological Survey from 2004 to 2007. The data comprise elemental analyses of 325 rock samples, including ooidal ironstone, ooidal sandstone, sandstone, siltstone, shale, Bad Heart rubble and till, and conglomerate.
