The tree species contained within RESULT's FOREST COVER inventory and silviculture components. This view contains attribute data and is intended to be joined with the other results views to provide additional forest cover polygon species information. This is a part of Silviculture and Land Status Tracking dataset, which includes trakcing achievement of silviculture obligations on Crown Land. Non-spatial attribute data delivered in CSV format
RESULTS Openings are administrative boundaries for areas harvested with silviculture obligations or natural disturbances with intended forest management activities on Crown Land. The RESULTS openings_svw is a spatial view made up of a number of tables containing information on disturbance dates, generalized bec, forest district, opening category, opening status, previous tree species, opening gross area, average slope, average elevation, aspect, along with maximum and minimum elevation values, and many more fields.
Standards Units for an opening represents desired soil conservation limits and stocking outcomes for the defined net area to be reforested. An opening may have one or more standard units. Standards Units may not overlap. Older records may not have standard unit maps available.
An opening's disturbance and silviculture activities reported into RESULTS. Most activities are within opening boundaries with the exception of broadcast treatments. An opening may have more than one activities associated with it. Activities may also overlap each other.
RESULTS opening's forest cover poylgons with silviculture component provided. Current forest cover subimssion into RESULTS must contain attribute and map information. However, there are historical forest cover polygon infomration where maps are not available. Forest Cover is provided at three critical milestones of at harvesting, at regeneration, and at free growing.
Planting activities reported on openings into RESULTS. More than one planting activitiy may occur within an opening. Planting activiites may also overlap. Planting attribute reporting is mandatory requirement while planting maps are optional.
RESULTS opening's forest cover polygons with inventory component provided. Current forest cover submissions into RESULTS must contain attribute and map information. However, there are historical forest cover polygon information where maps are not available. Forest Cover is provided at three critical milestones of at harvesting, at achieved regeneration and at free growing.
Spatial representation of a reserve of retention area associated with a silvicultural system. Reserves are forest patches or individual trees retained during harvesting, or other forestry operations to provide habitat, scenic, biodiversity, and other values. The reserve types included are Riparian, Wildlife Tree Patches, and Other. This is part of the Silviculture and Land status Tracking dataset, which includes all business processes required to receive and process records from forest licensees to record report on Silviculture and Land Status Management activities.
Six stream riparian classes ([STREAMCLASS] = 1-6) based on presence of fish, occurrence in a community watershed and average channel width. [STREAMCLASS] = 7 refers to unclassified streams. Stream classification is based on the 1995 Forest Practices Code Riparian Management Area Guidebook: http://www.llbc.leg.bc.ca/public/PubDocs/bcdocs/237312/Rip-toc.htm or https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/industry/forestry/managing-our-forest-resources/silviculture/silvicultural-systems/silviculture-guidebooks/riparian-management-area-guidebook
