The dataset contains land surface evapotranspiration (ET) for Canada's landmass at a spatial resolution of 5-km. The values represent the annual total amount of ET in mm of H2O, averaged over a 38-year period of 1979-2016. The ET was produced by the Land Surfae Model EALCO (Ecological Assimilation of Land and CLimate Observations) developed at Natural Resources Canada. Details of the dataset can be found in Wang et al.

This GIS dataset is a Yukon-wide compilation of surficial geology points derived from 13 published and unpublished 1:250,000 scale surficial geology maps produced by the GSC and YGS. Point features captured include: field station, fossil and sample locations; glacial landforms such as erratics, kames, kettles, drumlins and flutings; permafrost features such as pingos, palsas, patterned ground and thermokarst depressions; and other non-glacial landforms such as landslides and tors.

This cartographic quality series of 1:1 000 000 scale colour maps cover the provincial extent of Alberta. The primary provincial base map displays the Alberta Township System (ATS), major hydrographic features, municipalities, major roads, railways and select geoadministrative features (parks, reserves, etc.). In addition to the primary provincial base map, this series includes various themes that overlay the primary base map. The update of this map series is based on the provincial Base Features Access Update Program that has an approximate 5 year update cycle.

Considered the "king" of sea lions, the Steller sea lion (Eumetopias jubatus) is the biggest of all sea lions and enjoys a lifespan of up to thirty years. In Canada, the Steller can be spotted along the rocky coast of British Columbia. This hefty mammal usually travels alone or in a small group, but wisely, it joins others for protection during the mating and birthing season. Little is known about its oceanic lifestyle; however, the good news for this sea-loving mammal is that since the Steller sea lion first became protected in 1970, the size of the adult population has more than doubled.

Towfish (sidescan and video) and echo sounder surveys were utilized to examine bottom type and macrophyte cover within the area of two coastal marine finfish aquaculture sites, one in New Brunswick (Welch Cove) and one in Nova Scotia (Jordan Bay). Both towfish and echo sounder data could be used independently of one another. However, the towfish data were very useful for ground truthing echo sounder based classifications. All survey data were placed into a GIS which could be used to answer management questions such as the placement of cages at sites, benthic impacts and baseline conditions to determine long term changes.
