This feature dataset focuses on a terrestrial species at risk, the Green-scaled Willow (Salix chlorolepis), under the responsibility of Environment and Climate Change Canada. It displays the geographic areas in Quebec where critical habitat has been designated under the Species at Risk Act (SARA). However, not all of the area within these boundaries is necessarily critical habitat. To precisely define what constitutes critical habitat for a particular species, it is essential that this geospatial information be considered in conjunction with complementary information provided in a species’ recovery document (recovery program or action plan). These documents can be downloaded from the Species at Risk Public Registry (http://www.sararegistry.gc.ca).

This GIS dataset is a compilation of existing surficial map information for Alberta, edited for mapping continuity and generalized to make it suitable for presentation and use at 1:1,000,000 scale. It is the dataset used to create Alberta Geological Survey Map 601: Surficial Geology of Alberta. The data were prepared from an intermediate dataset (Alberta Geological Survey DIG 2013-0001), which was edgematched and then the boundaries between similar polygons were 'dissolved.' The residual dataset was then generalized selectively using the Geological Survey of Canada's GeoScaler software.

Multi-model ensembles of mean precipitation based on projections from twenty-nine Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5 (CMIP5) global climate models are available for 1901-2100. Specifically, the 5th, 25th, 50th, 75th and 95th percentiles of the monthly, seasonal and annual ensembles of mean precipitation (mm/day) are available for the historical time period, 1901-2005, and for emission scenarios, RCP2.6, RCP4.5 and RCP8.5, for 2006-2100.

Note: Projections among climate models can vary because of differences in their underlying representation of earth system processes. Thus, the use of a multi-model ensemble approach has been demonstrated in recent scientific literature to likely provide better projected climate change information.

This GIS dataset depicts the surficial geology of NTS map area 84O (line features). The data were created in geodatabase format and output for public distribution in shapefile format. The map was prepared by airphoto interpretation together with limited ground-truthing. The airphotos within Wood Buffalo National Park were flown in 1975 (scale 1:54,000).
