At all locations the TGM measurements were made using automatic Tekran ® 2537 mercury vapour analyzers (described in detail in Poissant, 1997). The air is typically sampled at flow rates between 1.0 and 1.5 L/min (depending on location) and is passed through a Teflon filter (47 mm diameter; 0.45 µm) at the sample line inlet to remove particulate matter. Inside the analyzer, the mercury in the sample air is pre-concentrated before analysis by amalgamation on gold cartridges (5-30 minute concentration time). Mercury is removed from the gold cartridges by thermal desorption and is detected using Cold Vapour Atomic Fluorescence Spectrophotometry (CVAFS).
The T1 Final Statistics presents data from individual income tax and benefit returns that were processed for the tax year two years before the year of publication. For example, the 2013 edition of the tables analyzes returns from the 2011 tax year, which generally had to be filed by the end of April 2012. These statistics contain the most recent 2011 tax year assessments or reassessments up to the cut-off date.

To be healthy, we need to eat a variety of foods, especially fresh fruits and vegetables. Pesticides play an important role in making sure there is enough food for everyone, by protecting crops from pests like insects, weeds, and fungal diseases. While pesticides help protect our food supply, some people have concerns about pesticide residue that may be on the food they eat.

The Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators (CESI) program provides data and information to track Canada's performance on key environmental sustainability issues. The indicators show trends in anthropogenic (human-made) greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. It includes emissions for 7 greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, sulphur hexafluoride, perfluorocarbons, hydrofluorocarbons and nitrogen trifluoride). Greenhouse gases trap heat in the Earth's atmosphere, just as the glass of a greenhouse keeps warm air inside.
