Following the spring floods at the end of April 2017 on Lake des Deux-Montagnes, Lake Saint-Pierre and the Prairies and Mille-Îles rivers that affected the Montérégie, Laurentians, Mauricie, Montreal and Laval regions, geomatics data (e.g. satellite images) were captured to document these floods, which exceeded the recurrence 100 years. At the peak of the flood on May 8, Lac des Deux Montagnes reached a level of 24.78m at station 043108 of the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment and Climate Change (MDDELCC), the Rivière des Prairies reached a flow of 3400 m3/s at station 043301 of the MDDELCC and the Rivière des Mille-Îles reached 1081 m3/s at Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) station 02OA013. All available bathymetry and related information for Beaver Mines Lake were collected and hard copy maps digitized where necessary. The data were validated against more recent data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 'SRTM' imagery and Indian Remote Sensing 'IRS' imagery) and corrected where necessary. The published data set contains the lake bathymetry formatted as an Arc ascii grid. Bathymetric contours and the boundary polygon are available as shapefiles.
