The Ministry of Culture and Communications makes available some of its data on heritage buildings cited by municipalities and indigenous communities (formerly the historic monuments cited). These elements of the immovable heritage are part of the heritage protected under the Cultural Heritage Act (R.S.Q., c. 21) and are registered in the Register of Cultural Heritage of Québec. These elements, as well as all the information related to them, can be found in the Directory of Cultural Heritage of Quebec (www.cultural-heritage.gouv.qc.ca). Note that the geographic coordinates associated with heritage elements represent a point that locates the property on the territory and not their perimeter. This location is indicative only and, therefore, has no legal significance. Refer to the Cultural Heritage Register, maintained at the CMC by the Registrar of Cultural Heritage, for legal information. It is also possible that some heritage elements do not have geographical coordinates, so they are absent from cartographic representations. Purpose: To disseminate and promote Quebec's cultural heritage.**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).**
