The purpose of this study is to examine trends over time of mercury and other trace elements, as well as legacy and new persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in landlocked Arctic char collected annually from lakes near the community of Resolute Bay on Cornwallis Island (Amituk, Char, North, Small, and Resolute) and in Lake Hazen in Quttinirpaaq National Park on Ellesmere Island. The project is also examining links between climate warming and increases or decreases in mercury concentrations in landlocked char. Sampling of water and Arctic char was aided by local people between 2005 and 2007. Many scientific publications have been produced from this project, and results have been discussed in the Canadian Arctic Contaminants Assessment Report III (2013): Persistent Organic Pollutants in Canada's North, Canadian Arctic Contaminants Assessment Report III (2012): Mercury in Canada’s North, and the Synopsis of Research Conducted under the 2015–2016 and 2014-2015 Northern Contaminants Program.

This dataset contains the fish health metrics (length, weight, gonad size, etc.) for Brown bullhead (Ameiurus nebulosus) collected from three site locations (Frenchman's Bay, Toronto Island and Tommy Thompson) within the Toronto and Region Area of Concern for 2003 and 2006. In 1987 under the revised Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement, 43 areas of concern (AOC), 12 of which are located in Canada, were identified as having severely impaired beneficial uses and water quality.

The Eulachon Migration Study Bottom Trawl survey - South (Eul-S) is part of the in the Eulachon Migration Study Bottom Trawl survey series and took place on the coast of British Columbia. The other survey in this series is the Eulachon Migration Study Bottom Trawl survey – North (Eul-N). The Eulachon Migration Study Bottom Trawl survey - South (Eul-S) was conducted monthly from October 2017 to March 2018 with an additional trip in January 2019 and was funded by the Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) National Rotational Survey Fund.
