Development of an automated, single molecule multiomics platform for rapid at-line biomanufacturing.

This project focuses on developing a cutting-edge solution for real-time tracking of raw materials used in concrete production, such as cement and aggregates. Giatec is developing technology to generate operational and environmental improvements in the construction industry. This project focuses on developing a solution to further improve the quality of concrete and reduce its environmental impact. Additionally, the system will generate Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) on an ongoing basis, ensuring accurate, up-to-date environmental impact data. This innovation aims to improve efficiency, sustainability, and transparency in the concrete industry while supporting regulatory compliance and decision making.

This 2nd round of the Invention to Innovation (i2I) for SMEs CtO will continue to develop the innovation skills and entrepreneurial mindset of pivotal researchers/scientists/engineers within select BC SMEs, with a focus on the life sciences, cleantech and deep tech industry sectors. This CtO will educate and mentor the respective technical employee in developing a commercialization strategy for new product development within their organization. Customized mentoring will be provided by SFU Innovates in both sector specific learning groups and in one-on-one sessions with Entrepreneurs-in-Residence (EIRs) serving as mentors.

Expansion of finance team in line with company growth, hired for full time permanent position.

The objective of the project is to allow the real-time in-situ characterization of microplastics in the marine environment, in order to better measure and monitor this form of ocean pollution, by developing and validating illumination and collection systems in a dynamic fluid environment for the purposes of Raman spectroscopy.

The project will leverage AI to enhance diagnosis capabilities for atherosclerotic disease, such as improving speed and accuracy of risk assessments for physicians and better informing their intervention strategies.

The project aims to develop and enhance software features to improve performance and scalability. Key activities include implementing new functionalities, improving user experience, and expanding the development team.

The project will push the limitations of known quantum algorithms and develop new methods using quantum hardware to study correlated electron systems. By developing both classical and quantum approaches the team will create well defined benchmarks against which quantum-enabled approximation schemes can be compared and it is expected that opportunities for hybrid algorithms will be identified in the process. Results of the work will be published in scientific articles and codes generated will be released publicly.

This project will enable further development of proprietary cable-suspended 3D printing head and a highly precise cable drive system.

The project focuses explicitly on re-integration efforts through a reintegration worker that provides culturally responsive practices related to parole and re-integration efforts. The reintegration worker will work purposefully between the community, families, the institution in the best interests of the incarcerated and their co-developed plan for successful and long-term positive re-integration.
